Social well-being
At Lamb Weston, passion and commitment are contagious. Our employees feel it, and they make sure our customers experience it. But just as importantly, we value and nurture our employees by building and respecting diversity, improving workplace safety, and promoting career development. Our employees, in turn, make sure our communities experience our passion, as well, through proactive community outreach.
In addition to supporting many civic and cultural events, Lamb Weston employees are encouraged to volunteer and to support the organizations they care about. Whether teaming up with local garden clubs on Arbor Day to plant trees at a community park, initiating recycling at a large, weekend-long event, or completing the paperwork to nominate a local after-care program for a ConAgra Foods Foundation grant, Lamb Weston employees look for ways to nourish their communities.
Enriching communities, wherever we go
- The Women's Leadership Council (WLC)-an internal organization dedicated to helping Lamb Weston employees reach their full potential through professional development programs, and by orchestrating community-minded efforts-collected 217,000 pounds of food from enthusiastic, generous facilities and employees during its second holiday food drive.
- The Lamb Weston Research, Quality & Innovation (RQI) employees headquartered in Richland, WA, led the annual Adopt-a-Family drive in conjunction with the ConAgra Foods Latino Network. Highlights included adopting 16 families-up from six last year-and providing each with $100 grocery gift cards, as well as providing a single mother of six with more than $1,000 in gifts and gift cards.
- Lamb Weston tapped into the well of generous employee volunteerism during a recent national meeting in New Orleans. Although Lamb Weston's new sweet potato processing facility currently under construction in Northeastern Louisiana is 4 1/2 hours north of New Orleans, 80 Lamb Weston volunteers contributed 160-plus volunteer hours of community service when in New Orleans for a meeting-simply because there was a need and an opportunity to help.
The ConAgra Foods Foundation
Through national, local and employee-centered programs, ConAgra Foods is dedicated to making a deep and lasting impact on its highest charitable priority: building a community of people who are passionate about ending child hunger and teaching nutrition education so that all kids can flourish tomorrow.
